The “Palli Bidyut Samity (PBS) Meeting” was organized to discuss the role of renewable energy in the sustainable development of Bangladesh’s power sector and to highlight the contributions of academic institutions in promoting clean energy initiatives. During the meeting, the activities and progress of renewable energy projects, particularly solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, were presented, focusing on feasibility studies, technical models, and the implementation of solar power systems in universities across the country.

The discussion emphasized the potential of the OPEX-based solar power model, which enables institutions to install solar systems without large upfront investment while benefiting from lower electricity costs and reliable energy generation. The meeting also highlighted training programs, research activities, and the establishment of solar laboratories aimed at developing skilled professionals in the renewable energy sector.

Additionally, the session explored opportunities for collaboration between universities and Palli Bidyut Samity to promote solar power adoption, improve energy efficiency, and support Bangladesh’s national goals for increasing clean energy generation and reducing dependence on fossil fuels. The meeting aimed to strengthen partnerships and accelerate the transition toward a sustainable and renewable energy future.
